Waiting For The Sun

The young man was struggling to stay warm and awake while his father set up the stand at the Celebration Farmer's Market, March 9, 2008.

You normally find two, three, four or more photos, along with some captions, on my daily posts, but every so often I come across a photo that I think should be posted alone, so that nothing else distracts from it. This is one of those photos.

How early in the morning was this?

(I don't know why people think I'm a guy! I just broke the news to Jilly... Tomorrow morning she'll probably spray her laptop screen with coffee. :D)

The term and position of the boy says everything!
I only would be distracted if you put here your cut photo, otherwise I enlarge them all and see all the detail.

Chris: It was pretty chilly here this morning.

Fénix: Probably around 8 or 8:30, but for us it was cold. There was ice on my windshield this morning. That's rare!

LOL ... at Jilly and her coffee.

Uma por Dia: Thank you ... you are such a great blogger!

LOL @ Fenix. :)

I love this one....there's something very timeless about it.

I always look forward to my visits here. You are very creative, and your offerings are wonderful and unique.

and isn't it wonderful that the boxes are upside down - gives the viewer pause in an attempt to read the lettering. Very nice, this photo, George.

There's a great deal of wisdom in this decision, to post a single, deserving photo. You've got one here, GT. Could you explain the Rivers on the boxes, please? Seems to that years ago when I went as a parent chaperone to Orlando with elementary kids that we saw lots of fruit stands with signs about some sort of Rivers fruit--the best, if I remember right. The teacher bought a great big bag of oranges which all of us loved. Thanks.

Love your pics.

Annie: Thank you! I didn't notice the boxes were upside down until I posted the pic, lol. I guess I'm just used to seeing them that way. The reason is that the cover, or lid, is as deep as the bottom, so they just flip it and insert the bottom, giving them double strength when moving the boxes around.

Lynette: Thank you so much!

The 'rivers' refers to Indian River fruit, always considered "the best" by growers and dealers in Florida. I found this promotional material on one of the dealer's sites: "Along the Eastern seaboard of Central Florida runs the Indian River. Along the river banks, the Anastasia limestone soil is rich in calcium and all the right nutrients for growing the world's best citrus. The combination of the enriched soil, gentle rains, Florida Sunshine, tropical ocean breeze, along with our hard work and special care allows us to bring you premium tree ripened citrus-thin skinned, extra sweet and super juicy."

Daniel: Thank you, I appreciate that!

Mo: Thank you, and welcome!

When you click on the picture, looking closer at his face and look, you can tell this young man is not having fun. Besides it was quite windy, isn'it?
I love photos capturing daily life. They are very powerful. Also this special effect, reinforces the contrast between the color of the fruits and the grey around that expresses well the boredom.
I love this pic.

The boy's feelings seem to be evident in his face, and the way it clearly shows in the photo is a bonus!

Dorothee: Thank you! It was windy and he was tired and cold. I was only there a couple of minutes, took four photos, and he fell asleep twice, lol.

Kate: That's for sure! He was definitely out of it.

SmallCityScenes: LOL ... His father was doing all the work, and the kid was probably hoping he'd get the message.

Neva: Thank you!

Carletta: Thank you so much! Come back soon!!

Poor fellow, there's no need to even enlarge the photo to clearly see he isn´t having no fun!

Great moment.

I love the Farmer's Market. There are always so many good things to buy, but a bit on the pricey side. Another great photo!

Thanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and for leaving your comments. Do visit again!

Was your Monday as miserable as mine? I suppose spring means something else in the UK!
