For The Sport

I stopped at the Lakefront for my afternoon walk when I was on my way home this afternoon and came across these two guys having a good time fishing. I asked if I could take a couple of pictures and they were more than happy for me too.

1) Just as I walked past them, one of the Bluegills they had caught flopped out of the pail, and ...
2) the guy's line jerked right about the same time. "Take a shot of this," he said, as he reeled in the Bluegill. I took a few shots actually and talked to them for a few minutes, then went on my way down the Lakefront. When I came back to get my truck, they called me over ...
3) to see the Catfish they had caught. They had left it on the line and in the water so they could pull it up for me to photograph!

"That'll make a nice dinner," I said.

"It's all for the fun of the sport," the shirtless one replied.

Fisherman: 1) person who catches fish as a livelihood or for recreation. 2) fishing boat.

George, my dear friend... Your words touched me to the depths of my soul. Your words couldn't be more true. It's a shame to say this, but our Big Brother has approved a Strategic Plan to «revitalize» this area and put a big shot lawyer managing the «interests». Gave him 400.000.000 euros to finally put an end to the natural and cultural beauties along the riverfront... I wish I could do something about it, but I have bills to pay...

For five years I learned beautiful theories about Democracy and People's representation. Power by the People, through the People and for the People. But Life taught me differently. Then I got a depression, which I am now learning to deal with. «If you can't beat them, join them», we say... Well, I can't beat them, but I won't join them either. I try to live with it. My Mother tells me to «Live and let live». I guess she's right!

(Sorry about the mood)
